At Mindful Touch Massage & Spa, we believe that self-care is a vital part of living a healthy lifestyle. Our mission is to promote happiness, health, and well-being in our community. We currently provide services that are important to living a healthy lifestyle, like massage therapy for relaxation and pain relief, and group relaxation services for social well-being. Now, we are excited to expand into an integrative approach to wellness and self-care that is holistic and considers the whole person. We are so excited to announce the addition of Health & Well-Being Coaching services to our wellness spa!
What is Health & Well-Being Coaching?
Sometimes self-care is doing the hard things, like making transformational health behavior changes to maximize our health, or to slow down the effects of a chronic health condition. It’s also making choices that move us in the direction of the life we want to be living and advocating for our own physical, mental, and emotional needs. Changing behaviors and habits that have been a part of our lives for long periods of time is hard! Neural pathways are heavily embedded in our brain, and creating new ones takes practice and repetition, and sometimes we need a helping hand in this process.
Health & Well-Being coaching empowers clients to make lasting behavior changes that are the foundation for a lifetime of health and well-being. Health is impacted by multiple interconnected dimensions. These dimensions include the choices one makes that affect their physical, mental, spiritual well-being and the medical care approaches utilized for their health. A Health & Well-Being Coach helps support their clients in discovering ways to successfully implement healthy lifestyle behaviors across these various dimensions into their unique lives.
Health & Well-Being Coaching is not just about your physical well-being, it is also about you as a whole person: your values, goals, work, balance, fulfillment and life purpose. Through the coaching process, clients typically reach various goals, improve their performance, and enhance their quality of life. We use reporting, exploring, and a consistent commitment to action to move forward. This proactive working relationship will accelerate your progress by providing greater focus and awareness of choice.
Meet Mindful Touch's Health & Well-Being Coach
Nikki Terry, BA, LMBT, HWBC
Nikki is a Licensed Massage Therapist and a Duke Trained Health & Well-Being Coach. Nikki has a passion for helping clients achieve their optimum state of wellness. She is also intimately acquainted with the process of transformation and has been successful in making major lifestyle changes in her own life.
During her career as a Licensed Massage Therapist, Nikki has worked with thousands of women who have come to her looking for pain relief and relaxation. In the course of working with her clients, she realized that the root of their pain and tension appeared to be linked to chronic unmanaged stress and/or illnesses that could be remedied or managed with lifestyle changes. She soon developed a desire to help them make sustainable lifestyle changes so they could live their happiest, healthiest lives. In 2023, she applied and was accepted into the Duke Integrative Health - Health & Well-Being training program to become a Health & Well-Being Coach and is now trained for this work.
Nikki is passionate about taking a holistic, whole person approach to working with women who are struggling with mental and physical exhaustion, brain fog, burn out, chronic stress, chronic pain, lack of sleep, and who are sick and tired of being sick and tired. She aims to empower them to live a life of optimal health, balance, and vitality.
