Therapeutic Massages for Pain Relief and Relaxation
Massages have benefits that go beyond relaxation. Therapeutic massages can help with more serious medical issues. Due to the type of injury you might have, your doctor, chiropractor, or physical therapist may recommend a therapeutic massage to complement other treatments you may be receiving for your injury.
Types of Injuries a Therapeutic Massage May Help
There are a number of medical issues - both chronic and acute - that therapeutic massages can help treat. Getting regular therapeutic massages can help to relieve pain and discomfort from these injuries.
- Repetitive stress injuries
- Migraines, cluster headaches, tension headaches, or sinus headaches
- Whiplash
- Temporomandibular joint and muscle disorder
- Strains and sprains (after inflammation has gone down)
- Low back pain
- Tendonitis
- Radiating pain
- Post-surgical scar tissue (with doctor’s approval)
- Frozen shoulder
Types of Therapeutic Massages We Offer
At Mindful Touch Massage & Wellness, we offer therapeutic pain relief massages and therapeutic relaxation massages, as well as therapeutic spa enhancements.
Therapeutic Relaxation
Stress and pain melt away as your therapist listens to your needs, and takes your body-mind-soul on a journey of deep, rest and relaxation. This session includes two enhancements and hot towels.
Therapeutic Pain Relief
Neuromuscular Therapy, and an eclectic blend of massage techniques, are combined with hot stones, hot towels, and arnica-ginger massage oil to relieve pain and restore blood flow to chronically tight muscles. Your therapist will address painful areas of chronic tension with skill and compassion, and leave you feeling renewed. This service also includes a customized stretching routine and any other home care recommendations necessary for your healing.
Therapeutic Spa Enhancements
Enhance your massage with any of these add-on treatments:
- Restorative Foot Treatment
- Tranquility Scalp Treatment
- Exfoliating Back Scrub
- Aromatherapy
- Hot Stones/Back Only
- Hot Stones/Full Body
- Arnica-Ginger-Heat Treatment
- Dry Brushing
It is important to note that a therapeutic massage may feel deeper than a general relaxation massage. It is likely you may feel more tenderness during the massage work as your therapist works through the tissue. Be sure to communicate with your therapist if anything is painful or tender during the massage.
